Storybook of an Intimate Wedding

Last week I blogged about the benefits of an “intimate wedding.”  With the elaborate celebrity weddings and ridiculous extravagance in the wedding industry, it can be difficult to imagine how an intimate, small wedding can really feel like “you.”

If your dream is a huge gathering with everyone you know, I say GO FOR IT.  You can still do it on a budget.  More info on planning a big bash wedding for cheap here.

But if a simple, elegant wedding is more your style…it’s a perfect way to keep your wedding inexpensive.

Just to prove the point about a small wedding being simply elegant AND incredibly personal and meaningful, take a look at the wedding of Candice and Lewis.

These gorgeous photos tell the story of Candice and Lewis’ very small (only a scattering of the closest family and friends) ceremony on the shores of Quarry Lake.  It doesn’t get more intimate and romantic than that.

And check out this gorgeous photo of an intimate wedding–bride and groom only!

Here are some tips on How To Have A Small Private Wedding.

My own thoughts…

I’m not usually part of teeny tiny wedding celebrations, BUT I have seen weddings of 25-40 people.  Think about it this way: only your very closest loved ones are there.  You have history with these people, and every one is so important that you couldn’t consider leaving them out.

As far as parties go, the dance floor is seldom “packed.”  (There simply aren’t enough people to pack it!)  But guests have a great time and you get to spend one on one time with each one.

It’s something to consider for a simply elegant wedding…

How do you feel about small, intimate weddings?  Is it for you or not?  Leave me a comment.
